Any Fast Weight Loss Exercise Without Going To A Gym Or A Personal Trainer?

Question: Any fast weight loss exercise without going to a gym or a personal trainer?

I need some free activities ideas, not the gym or health club.

What can I do as a working mother, who wants to exercise to lose weight, between the hours when I get off work and then have to cook dinner and get everyone ready for the next day?? (Homework, dishes, bathtime….ahhhhhh!)

I am also VERY rural. Nothing for miles but desert!

Well, if you can, I’ll start by saying keep your body guessing. Do a different exercise everyday. Never do the same thing for more than a day. One day you can jog, and the next, you can do situps on an exercise ball. The next day you can go swimming (if you have the means, I know you said you were rural). The day after that you can do forward squats with dumbbells out to your side. Just keep your body guessing. You know exactly what you’re doing, but your muscles and body don’t. Try jump roping, it’s very good cardio. Or just dancing. Dancing is a wonderful form of exercise. Get the whole family involved, cause once y’all start, you won’t want to stop. Best of luck to you.

Take advantage of your rural area and go for a run. The fact that you’ll be running in rough terrain (a desert) will only serve to increase your caloric expenditure and up your muscle use…so you’ll burn more fat and tone up your legs even faster.

There are over 100 ways to work your abs, so don’t resort to doing crunches. Look them up and find what you like.

Dips, push-ups, squats, lunges, leg ups, and other leg exercises are all free and you can do them at home. However, I recommend investing in a set of strong resistance bands or a pair of dumbbells to up your intensity and give you more exercises to do.

You should look on yahoo search for “home workouts”. I do these as well.. Also eat foods that are proven to make you lose weight like berries.

Jumping jacks,situps,pushups and jogging around the yard will get you started.

Also go on youtube and look at tae bo videos and do them!

Bodyweight exercises:

stationary lunges
walking lunges
squats
lateral steps
crunches
torso twists
leg lifts
bicycles
push ups
pull ups
jump rope
run in place
jumping jacks

Walking, jogging and running are all great free aerobic exercise ideas. I remember the days when my kids were younger. Life was extremely hectic and I found that exercising in the morning worked out best for me rather than trying to squeeze it in before dinner (just a thought).

Other inexpensive ways to exercise right at home are resistance band exercises and dumbbell exercises. I have a couple of great DVDs by Denise Austin (she’s one of my favorites) and I use these DVDs a couple of times a week, workout on my treadmill a few times a week and then walk with my grandson (which isn’t exactly a great workout as he likes to stop and look at everything).
