Changing your eating habits is one of the fast weight loss ways to keep your weight down in the long term.

1. Avoid Eating Large Meals. Avid eating big meals at least four hours before bedtime.

Eating a heavy meal late at night can also cause indigestion, insomnia and promote obesity.

2. Start the Day With Breakfast. Skipping breakfast makes your likely to eat more during lunch.

3. Do Not Drink During Meals. Instead, drink before or after eating.

4. Avoid Eating in Front of TV. You tend to eat more while watching TV as your mind is focused on the show than on the amount of food you eat.

5. Chew Your Food Properly. Savor every bite. Eating slowly helps to avoid overeating.

6. Don’t Do Diets. Temporary change will only provide temporary results.

7. Eat Sensible Portions. It is the best way to stop unwanted weight gain.

8. Do Not Use Food as Rewards. We are likely to binge more on ‘comfort’ foods like ice-cream, cakes and chocolate when eating emotionally.

9. Make Time for Meals. Avoid eating on the run.

10. Find Healthy Alternatives for Snacks. Have a low-fat frozen yogurt of ice-cream, fresh fruits instead of crackers.

I first wrote about The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox Program in June. At that time, I read that Angelina Jolie was trying for fast weight loss to shed 21 pounds in 21 days.

To be honest, I found it a very extreme diet in order to shed so many pounds in so short of time. I thought it’s very unhealthy to lose more than 20 pounds in three weeks.

Fast Weight Loss With Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox Program

But after months of reading fast weight loss solutions through diets, exercise programs, hypnosis therapies, massage treatments, and many others, I changed my mind about the 21 Pounds in 21 Days: The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox by Roni DeLuz, naturopathic doctor, nurse and founder of Martha’s Vineyard Holistic Retreat in Massachusetts.

The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox Program is a liquid-only detoxification program designed both to cleanse the body and bring weight loss.

It focuses primarily on drinks and foods that are in liquid form. Decaffeinated herbal teas, green or berry drinks, distilled water, and fresh vegetable juices are recommended drinks while puréed vegetable soups are recommended liquefied foods.

Within this period of 21 days, you start losing a substantial number of pounds; the pounds lost are actually the toxic residues that have built up in your body.

In other words, your body is undergoing the detoxification. The juices work to stimulate the cells to cleanse themselves and flush toxins out of the body.

Some say it’s not healthy because it excludes food groups such as dairy, protein, essential fatty acids and insoluble fiber. The fact is that you have the option of gradually adding solid foods like oatmeals for breakfast and stir-fried vegetables for dinner during the 21-day program.

Once you complete the 21-day program, start easing yourself off of the detox diet cautiously by starting with things like yogurt, protein powder, salmon, and soy milk.
