As you know, exercise and proper diet are the two keys to losing weight. For motivation, to exercise, try going to the gym with a friend. If you have someone with whom you can talk easily with, then physical activity is less of a bore! If this method doesn't work, try bringing a book/magazine or an mp3 player with you to keep you entertained.

The best advice I can tell you is to maintain a schedule for your exercise that you do not break. If you tough it out for a couple weeks, you'll build a habit to do so. You may even find you enjoy it!

Good luck and best wishes!

If it was easy there would be no overweight people. The first month is the worst. After that you will feel like crap when you don't work out. If you can get through the first month you should be good to go. I've never made it that far. It really only takes getting your heart rate up for 30 minutes 3 times a week to burn enough calories to see a difference. That doesn't mean exercise 3 times a week...it means exercise long enough to get your heart rate up and then stay at it for 30.

I'd recommend swimming, an easy sport with little risk of injuries.

Even if you feel tired going there, stick with it, cos let me tell you, you'll have bags of energy when you get out!

Next step would be to do some running but go gently, alternate walks and runs in your local park.

The key is to go slowly to get your body used to it
